Michelle Mulvihill McBurnie, CPA ~ Managing Partner & Founder

Michelle is a highly effective and ambitious Business Development and Recruitment professional. A critical business partner with a strategic approach towards solutions, Michelle’s background offers a unique blend of education, certification and hands-on professional experience coupled with Corporate and Executive Search firm experience.

Michelle currently co-manages KNM Resources, a 100% women-owned business certified by the WBENC. In recent years, Michelle co-launched, developed and directed two of New Jersey's largest, privately-held recruiting firms. In addition to assisting with running the day-to-day operations of these firms, Michelle consistently performed as a top producer in the country.

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and Cedar Crest College, Michelle is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Michelle began her professional career in Accounting where she accumulated over 11 years of professional experience working for Deloitte, Salomon Brothers and Viacom. When not working, she and her husband are busy raising their twins and walking their St. Bernard.

Karen Zubulake, CPA ~ Managing Partner & Founder

Karen is a highly successful and motivated recruitment and business development professional with both corporate human resources and executive search firm experience.

Karen began her professional career in Accounting where she accumulated 12 years of audit, accounting and finance experience working at Deloitte and AT&T.  While at AT&T, she made the transition to Human Resources and began recruiting for the entire Finance organization.  In 2006, Karen transitioned to Executive Search (quickly becoming a top producer) and in 2014, she founded KNM Resources.

Karen is a graduate from Adelphi University where she received a degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters who are both very active in sports.

Dana Applegate ~ Executive Recruiter

Dana is a highly accomplished, self-motivated and results driven business professional with an extensive background in Tax.

Dana began her career in Public Accounting at Arthur Andersen. While there she performed tax services for clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, gaming, software and financial services. After a few years she left public to join a well-respected Private Equity Firm, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette which was later acquired by Credit Suisse. She continued her career at Credit Suisse and was the Vice President of Tax in the Private Equity Division. After 13 years at CS she transitioned to Executive Search.  As an Executive Recruiter for KNM Resources, she specializes in identifying and placing top talent within the Accounting and Finance Industries.

Dana is a graduate of Villanova University, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. When not working, she and her husband are busy raising their 3 young daughters.

Liz Ducharme, CPA ~ Executive Recruiter

Liz began her professional career in Public Accounting, working for both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. She performed audit services for clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing and higher education. She later transitioned to corporate accounting and worked as a Financial Reporting Manager for Student Transportation Inc.

Liz is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a minor in Information Systems. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, and traveling the world to new destinations.

Jennifer Poggi ~ Executive Recruiter

Jennifer graduated from Rutgers University with a double major in Meteorology and Journalism/Media Studies. She was a Broadcast Meteorologist for over four-years before transitioning into public relations for two years. What led her to recruiting is her true passion for people and helping them find their ideal career opportunity. Consistent with her educational background, Jennifer has exceptional listening and communication skills. She takes pride in her work and the resulting relationships she builds. With unparalleled drive, determination, dedication and a positive attitude, she leverages organizational and planning skills to successfully bring the professional and their future employer together.

Lisa Lucash ~ HR Administrative Assistant

Lisa graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Prior to joining KNM Resources as the Human Resources Administrative Assistant, she gained 15 years of Management experience which included but “not limited”, to operations, marketing and recruiting. She is responsible for administrative/operational functions, creating marketing strategies for identifying and sourcing potential clients, screening resumes and credentials of applicants and maintaining and updating proprietary databases. When not working, she enjoys photography, sports and being alongside her husband raising three boys.
